140th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Dr. Milan Vidmar

The year 2025 was a special year for the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute. We celebrated the 140th anniversary of the birth of our founder, Prof. Dr. Milan Vidmar – an exceptional scientist, visionary, and intellectual who left a lasting mark on the development of electrical engineering, science, and society in Slovenia.

To celebrate this important anniversary, we organised a festive event called Vidmar Day on 19 November 2025, which brought together employees, former employees, partners, friends, and everyone connected to the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute and Milan Vidmar's legacy through shared values, respect for knowledge, and a vision for the future. The event was an opportunity to remember, give thanks, and reflect on the significance of Vidmar's work today and tomorrow.

On this occasion, we also created a commemorative video that connects the past, present, and future of EIMV through snapshots of the event, the faces of the participants, and the symbolism of the space. With respect to our founder, we will continue to follow the values of excellence, responsibility, and innovation that he established.

The celebration of this anniversary year is an expression of gratitude and respect for a man whose thoughts and work remain the foundation of the identity of the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute.
