We participated in the CIRED Spring Webinar 2025

On 20 May 2025, the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute participated in the CIRED Spring Webinar 2025: Distribution Grid Underground Cables and Overhead Line Life Cycle organised b CIRED, and aimed at presenting the conclusions of the 2021-3 Working Group: Underground and Overhead Line Life Cycle.

Martin Podlogar, a member of this working group, presented the key challenges and state-of-the-art approaches to planning and maintenance of distribution network infrastructure, with a focus on medium voltage (MV) networks (from 1:22:20 onwards).

The webinar then presented the main findings of the working group, focusing on solutions and best practices in the area of asset management for underground cables and overhead lines.

Around 500 experts from all over the world attended the event. Participants exchanged expert views, experiences and best practices, contributing significantly to the development of sustainable, reliable and efficient solutions for the future of power systems.
