Visit to the 21st In TsiktSymposium and the Tuzla Thermal Power Plant

19. Jun, 2025

From 12 to 13 June 2025, we were in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, attending the 21st international symposium with a long tradition, InTsikt2025, where representatives of industry, academia and government institutions meet to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of information and communication technologies. The event is traditionally organised by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Tuzla, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana and the BIT Centre Tuzla.

At this year's discussion on the latest trends, best practices and future directions in digital transformation, security and sustainability, our colleague Luka Zidarič gave an invited lecture on A large-scale simulation model of the ENTSO-E transmission network: A universal tool for system analyses, while Mag. Igor Podbelšek participated in a panel on the digitisation of distribution networks.

We discussed with event participants the era of rapid technological progress, in which digitalisation has emerged as a key driver of transformation across all sectors of society. From energy systems to cyber security, from business innovation to smart city solutions. Our increasing dependence on digital technologies presents both tremendous opportunities and significant challenges.

We also used the event to visit Tuzla TPP and talk to representatives of the power plant about the challenges facing thermal power plants in Europe today. We are delighted to participate in professional meetings in Bosnia and Herzegovina, share our experience and help address the challenges facing the country in its electricity system.
