Prof. Dr. Maks Babuder Receives Lifetime Achivement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Prof. Dr. Maks Babuder within the scope of the 14th Electric Power Industry Conference in Laško. This is one of the most distinguished awards given by the CIGRE-CIRED association. It is awarded to the recipient who has left a very important mark in the energy sector on the basis of their work, career and personality.
Prof. Dr. Maks Babuder has been employed at the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute since 1964 and has for more than 50 years contributed to the success of Slovenian and European electric power sector with his exceptional scientific, professional and teaching work. In his rich career, he specialised as a researcher in high voltage technology, led the research department and the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute, and worked as a professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana. He is the member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, where he has taken over the chair of the technical class recently. He has extensively cooperated in the Cigre international organisation since 1974. He also took over the management of the technical council at the foundation of the SEERC regional organisation within the scope of the CIGRE organisation. His professional work has also been recognised by the world ISH organisation, when he chaired at the symposium in 2007 in Ljubljana and is the member of the Steering Comittee. Maks Babuder's professional and research activity encompasses high voltage technologies, other technical and systemic as well as technological and development applications, environmental and applied research, innovations in measurement methods and active collaboration in equipment standardisation.
