In memoriam: Janez Sterniša (1932–2025)

Z žalostjo sporočamo, da je preminil gospod Janez Sterniša, nekdanji direktor Elektroinštituta Milan Vidmar.

Gospod Sterniša je diplomiral na Fakulteti za elektrotehniko in strojništvo v Ljubljani ter kasneje še na Visoki ekonomsko-komercialni šoli v Mariboru. Poklicno pot je začel v industriji, nato pa zasedal vodstvene položaje v Elektrogospodarstvu Slovenije. Med letoma 1985 in 1994 je vodil Elektroinštitut Milan Vidmar, kjer je pomembno prispeval k razvoju in strokovnemu ugledu institucije.

Leta 2008 je prejel Vidmarjevo plaketo za usmerjanje razvoja elektroenergetskega sistema Slovenije, vodenje Inštituta ter prispevek k zgodovini slovenskega gospodarstva.

Spomin nanj ohranjamo z iskrenim spoštovanjem.

Svojcem izrekamo iskreno sožalje.

In memoriam: Janez Sterniša (1932–2025)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr Janez Sterniša, former director of the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute.

Mr Sterniša graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana and later from the Higher School of Economics and Commerce in Maribor. He began his professional career in industry and then held management positions at Elektrogospodarstvo Slovenije. Between 1985 and 1994, he headed the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute, where he made an important contribution to the development and professional reputation of the institution.

In 2008, he received the Vidmar Plaque for guiding the development of Slovenia's electrical power system, leading the institute, and contributing to the history of the Slovenian economy.

We shall remember him with sincere respect.
