IAIA2025 Annual Conference

16. May, 2025

EIMV participated in the 44th Annual Conference of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA25), which took place from 1 to 4 May 2025, in Bologna, Italy. The “Impact Assessment in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” conference brought together more than 1000 experts from more than 80 countries who discussed the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on impact assessment, ESG (environmental, social and governance) standards as well as sustainable finance.

Dr Rudi Vončina led two-day workshops entitled Sustainable finance, ESG, and impact assessment in the age of AI: exploring connections and opportunities. Leading experts from the International Sustainable Finance Centre (ISFC) and the United Nations (UNDP) participated in the event. Participants learned about the framework for sustainable finance, reporting requirements, and the role of AI in processing ESG data. The discussions tackled the importance of incorporating multidisciplinary knowledge and eco-design principles into engineering practices, particularly with regard to meeting the "do no significant harm" (DNSH) criteria and sustainable financial requirements.
