First national energy conference

25. Oct, 2024

On 16 and 17 October 2024, researchers from the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute participated at the first national energy conference, held at Cankarjev dom under the auspices of the Slovenian Energy Association (SZE) and the Slovenian Committee of Electric Power Engineers CIGRE-CIRED.

Ana Cerk presented a paper entitled The performance of siting new energy infrastructure, while in her presentation, Dr Maja Ivanovski tackled the outlook for sustainable fuels: the torrefaction process and its environmental impact.

Aleksandar Momirovski's papers examined the connection of Slovenian Nuclear Power Plant 2 (JEK2) with maximum 2400 MW power to Slovenia's power system and the impact of battery energy storage on power system management and operation.

The introduction of new network tariffs for the use of power grids was presented by Mag Andreja Ivartnik Kanduč.

The aim of the conference was to bring together energy experts from all over Slovenia and to present the latest Slovenian and global energy issues, including the Slovenian green transition to a low-carbon society.
