EIMV strengthens its role in developing the flexibility of distribution networks

In October, the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute attended the CIRED Serbia symposium, which took place in Belgrade. This year's theme was dedicated to a key topic for the future of energy – the flexibility of distribution networks.

The event was opened with an introductory presentation by Prof. Dr. Nermin Suljanović, who highlighted the opportunities available to distribution system operators (DSOs) in using flexibility services for more efficient network operation and planning. He also highlighted the latest experiences from the Slovenian energy market, which serve as an important example of good practice at the European level.

The main part of the presentation was devoted to the innovative FlexIS platform, which is the product of the knowledge and development of EIMV experts. FlexIS is an advanced solution designed specifically for the needs of DSOs in managing local flexibility resources on low-voltage networks and in effective cooperation with market participants. The platform represents a significant step forward in the digitisation of electricity distribution and support for the green transition.
