EIMV’s highlights from the IAEA event

From 12 to 16 May 2025, a follow-up Interregional Advanced Training Course on the Development of Safety Assessment/Safety Case and Security Plan for the Storage of Sealed and Disused Sealed Radioactive Sources was organised by the Radioactive Waste Management Agency in Ljubljana within the scope of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Slovenia.

Our colleague Dr Barbara Horvat participated in the training and presented the results of the work of a 10-member group, which used risk assessment software for radiation source storage facilities to design a radioactive waste storage facility.

This IAEA event was attended by experts from nearly 30 countries. In addition to acquiring knowledge, the training also enabled participants to share experiences and forge new ties for future cooperation in the field of radioactive waste.
