EIMV on the global professional stage – CIGRE Seoul 2025
6. Nov, 2025This year, EIMV is again actively contributing to professional trends in the international electric power community. At the colloquium and plenary meeting of the CIGRE A2 and D1 study committees, which took place in Seoul between 27 and 1 November, our Institute once again emphasised its role as a reference research institution in the field of transformers, materials, and testing technologies.
EIMV was represented by Tim Gradnik, who regularly contributes to developing international guidelines and best practices within both CIGRE national study committees. This time, he led a discussion on the prevention and investigation of transformer failures, participated in the work of the CIGRE A2.60 group, and performed review work, which further confirmed the professional maturity of EIMV and its experts.
Particular attention was drawn to the presentation of the research study “Parametrization of Dynamic Transformer Thermal Models with Variable Cooling Stages”, which addresses one of the key challenges of modern energy – understanding the dynamic thermal behaviour of transformers. The study directly contributes to the development of more accurate models that will be important for future standards and operational practice.
The event in Seoul is further proof that EIMV remains an important partner in the global CIGRE community – with professional content, development ambitions, and knowledge that extends far beyond the borders of Slovenia.
We are proud of our experts and the international recognition we help build.
