EIMV in dialogue with industry on the future of electricity grids

The Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute (EIMV) associates participated in a professional workshop in Erlangen, organised by Siemens Energy as part of the cooperation between ELES and Siemens Energy.

The workshop brought together experts in the industry, the combined transmission and distribution electricity grid operator and applied research environment, as well as opened the discussion on the current challenges of modern electricity grids. Special attention was dedicated to technological and digital solutions for improving system observability, primarily through the use of advanced sensor technologies and effective data management, which are becoming key elements for the reliable operation and maintenance of the electricity infrastructure.

EIMV participation was an opportunity to present the institute's research and development competencies and to exchange views on opportunities for further cooperation with industrial and system partners. The triangle between industry, operators, and the research and development environment is creating space for the joint development of solutions that can make a significant contribution to the further development and digital transformation of electrical power systems.
