The Milan Vidmar Electric Power Institute is a leading Slovenian engineering and scientific-research organisation acting in the area of electric power engineering and general energy. From the economic and technological perspective it addresses issues of generation, transmission and distribution of electricity. It releases feasibility and implementation studies, expert reports, makes technological, environmental and other analyses, inspects quality and operation of electric power systems and facilities as required by electric power utilities, ministries, as well as national and regional authorities.

Authorisations and accreditations granted to EIMV:
1 Republic of Slovenia, Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy, 2004 Authorisation for technical examinations in the area of electric energy granted on the basis of article 108 of the Energy Law (RS Official Gazette no. 79/99, 8/00-amand., 52/02 Law on Public Agencies, 110/02-Construction Law-1, order 50/03. Constitutional Court and 51/04) and article 3. of the Order for Determination of Conditions for Acquiring Authorisation for Technical Examinations in the Area of Electric energy no. 311-29/2004 dated Nov. 3,.2004.
The authorisation is granted for technical examinations regarding quality of work accomplished, in-built materials and meeting design-foreseen standards of the technological process, and release of expertise for particular areas.
2 Republic of Slovenia, Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy, Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for the Environment, 2005 Authorisation for performing first measurements and operational monitoring for low-frequency electromagnetic radiation sources.
3 Republic of Slovenia, Ministry for Transport and Communications, Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Telecommunications, 1998 Certificate of competence for performing activities in the area of electromagnetic compatibility of electric plants and facilities for energy and electric power systems
4 Republic of Slovenia, Ministry of Environment, Spatial and Energy, Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for the Environment, 2002 Individual authorisations for release of reports containing individual analyses or partial expert reports regarding assessment of environmental harmful effects resulting from electromagnetic radiation emissions.
