SERVICES
The work of the Power Plants and Facilities Environmental Effects Dept. concerns the below seven main fields for which the department performs the listed services.:

1. Gorunding
  • research in effects and calculation of short circuits,
  • calculation of overhead power line parameters,
  • measurement of grounding system resistance,
  • measurements of touch voltage,
  • measurements of potential distribution,
  • measurement of galvanic connections,
  • measurements of lightning structures,
  • measurements of electrical installations,
  • measurements of specific resistance,
  • grounding dimensioning;
2. Electromagnetic field radiation
  • elaboration of environmental effects of electromagnetic field radiation,
  • measurements of electric and magnetic fields (on the basis of authorisation of the Ministry for Environment and Space and Ministry of Health),
  • research in effects of electromagnetic radiation of overhead power lines and transformer substations on the environment;
3. Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • research in electromagnetic compatibility inside power structures,
  • research in electromagnetic disturbances caused by power structures (transformer stations, overhead power transmission lines, cable lines) and those caused by electrical installations to electrical equipments (for instance computer screens) in their environment,
  • elaboration of proposal to reduce electromagnetic disturbances or electromagnetic disturbing (inside and outside of power structures),
  • measurements of transient overvoltages in secondary circuits of power structures,
  • functionality tests of control systems of power structures at occurrence of electromagnetic disturbances;
4. Power quality
  • power quality measurements;
5. Noise
  • basic research in noise to determine noise algorithms for power equipment,
  • measurements of noise caused by operation of power structures,
  • research in noise environmental effects;
6. Corrosion
  • research in corrosion effects on grounding systems and metal structures - constructions,
  • measurements of corrosion parameters,
  • measurements of d. c. leakage currents of railway traction;
7. Effects of power facilities on neighbouring metal installations and constructions
  • calculation of inductance effects of power elements (overhead power transmission lines) on telecommunication lines and pipelines,
  • protection of telecommunication lines and pipelines against inductance effects,
  • protection.
