HIGH VOLTAGE DEPARTMENT - HV EQUIPMENT

Testing and Measuring Equipment of the High-Voltage laboratory:

The High-Voltage Laboratory disposes of equipment generating direct, alternating and impulse voltages and currents:

2 x 200 kV a. c. generator, the maximal generator current on the HV side is 50 mA 2 x 350 kV a. c. generator , the maximal current on the HV side is 1 A 600 kV d. c. generator, the maximal rectifier current is 50 mA 1.2/50 impulse generator, its voltage being 800 kV and energy 4 kJ 1.2/50 and 250/2500 impulse generator, its voltage being 1.5 MV at the 1.2/50 wave and 1 MV at the 250/2500 wave and energy 40 kJ 8/20 current impulse generator of the charging voltage of up to 30 kV at the impulse current of up to 20 kA

There are various kinds of methods used to measure voltages, currents, temperatures, times and any other parameter important for later analysis. Recording is made of various values, either instantaneous, effective or mean, and time values of various magnitudes to allow for later analysis.

For the purpose of the research work and measurements, there is the following technical software used:

MATLAB - numeric solving of mathematical problems
AutoCAD - technical drawing CADdy

Mobile Laboratory - Measurement Equipment

1. Measurements of insulation resistance

M"omega" meter of the TECELEC CI500C manufacture, type no. 373805, operating with equipment designed and patented by the Institute. It is used for on-site compensation of .electromagnetic disturbances, M"omega" meter of the AVO MEGGER BM2 manufacture, type no. 9803981451-0398, and M"omega" meter of the SEFELEC manufacture;

2. Measurements of the dielectric loss factor (tg "delta") and capacitance - two systems - two different systems

ystem I - used for measurements on power and instrument transformers:

Scherring bridge of the TETTEX manufacture, type 2801 QS/ 107386, voltage source of the TETTEX manufacture, type 5281/35923, equipped with a 100 pF capacitance normal, zero indicator of the TETTEX manufacture, type 5516/140844, compensating equipment for electromagnetic disturbances developed and patented by the Institute;

System II - used for measurements of rotating machines (electric motors and generators):

Glynn's bridge of the TETTEX manufacture, type 2805/HR/123494, 1000 pF capacitance normal of the TETTEX manufacture, type 3385/133722, 10.5/21 kV feeding transformer of the TTL manufacture, type 69279., system for feeding, control, measurements and HV compensation of the feeding (testing) voltage.

Besides the above equipment, the mobile HV laboratory disposes also of equipment which in certain situations allows for testing within considerably high voltage ranges (150 kV).

3. Recovery voltage measurements

A computer-supported system for reverse voltage measurements of the TETTEX manufacture, type RVM 5461 UD/ 143166, together with software for automatic data intake (5461/SWRVM1) and processing (5461/SWRVM2)

4. Partial discharge measurements

A system for measurement of partial discharges of the TETTEX manufacture, type 9216, with a 1000 pF capacitance normal of the TETTEX manufacture, type 3385, and 10.000 pF of the TETTEX manufacture, type 9221WF, and all the pertaining equipment as needed for power supply and calibration

5. Stray inductance measurements

The Maxwell-Wien bridge of the TETTEX manufacture, type 2801 QS/ 107386, and ohmic normals 0-1000 M of the TETTEX manufacture/1107B PX/ 136603 and.136604

6. Measurements of switching times and time asymmetry of pole operation

A computer-supported oscillographic system of the LINK manufacture with the feeding current of up to 40 A and the KLIKLOP data processing programme

7. Measurement of small ohmic resistance (contact resistance)

Universal stabilised rectifier of up to 50 A DC with the pertaining measuring equipment.

8. Capacitance current recording

XY - Servogor recorder, type 122 AC NGI

9. Accuracy class testing of voltage instrument transformers

testing transformer of the Energoinvest manufacture, type PTO 275 kV, with 59 kVAr compensation coils, comparing bridge of the TETTEX manufacture with a standard electronic voltage divider, standard air capacitors of the TETTEX manufacture, type 1000 V, variable load unit of the TETTEX manufacture.
