1. Should in the new market conditions - imposed on the electricity supply industry - the long-term development of the electricity market still be planned in advance?
Yes, it should. Moreover, in market conditions there is an increased need of long-term strategic planning compared to the previous monopolistic environment. It should be reminded that, as foreseen by the EU guidelines and directives, EU countries are still kept responsible to control and also to assure reliable electricity supply to consumers irrespective of the fact that some activities of electricity production, transmission and distribution are no longer natural monopolies. Having become market activities, they are nowadays open to private incentives which make them even more complex and demanding.
